Long-Term Care

What is Respite Care?

Respite care refers to a type of short-term care designed to provide relief and support to primary caregivers of individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other special needs. Respite care can take many different forms, such as in-home care, day programs, or residential facilities, and can vary in duration from a few hours to several weeks.

The goal of respite care is to give caregivers a break from their responsibilities, allowing them to recharge and attend to their own needs, while ensuring that their loved ones receive the care they need. Respite care can also provide individuals with disabilities or special needs the opportunity to socialize, participate in activities, and receive additional support outside of their usual care environment.
